A New Chapter for Our Pilates Community

We have changed ownership and moved

​After many years of serving the Danville community, Mind Body Wellness Pilates has officially closed its doors and transitioned to new ownership.

​

The program will now continue as The Pilates Studio at Valkyrie, located inside Valkyrie Aerial Acrobatics at 308 Court Street, Danville, VA. While you'll notice a new location, expanded class offerings, and exciting opportunities for growth, our goal remains the same—to provide exceptional Pilates instruction that supports strength, balance, mobility, and overall wellness for every client.

Gingy Caguioa-Blakely

Gingy opened the first Pilates studio in Danville, VA in 2016 offering Pilates, Gyrotonic, Barre classes in a holistic environment.
 

With over 20 years of teaching experience, extensive training, expertise and decades of practice gives her the knowledge and reputation as a highly skilled instructor trained, certified and licensed in the methods of Pilates, Gyrotonic®, Barre, TRX, Ashtanga and Kundalini Yoga, Thai Yoga Bodywork. and aa a Holistic Nutrition Coach.

Her therapeutic approach to fitness and extensive knowledge as a teacher has given her the opportunity to work with golfers, tennis players, equestrians, fellow yogis, runners, athletes and rehab patients; and assist in healing therapies for back pain, scoliosis, Osteoporosis, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's for a better quality of movement.

We welcome all to our studio to experience the methods of mindful, purposeful, intelligent fitness and wellness for all ages and for all levels.

Kristen Houser Barker

Kristen Houser Barker, OTR/L is the Executive Director at the Center for Pediatric Therapies. 

Kristen earned a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the Medical College of Virginia Campus of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Kristen resides in Danville, Virginia.

 

Kristen, a dancer herself has been into fitness all her life and teaches Zumba, Barre, Dance and Pilates Reformer.

Liz Straub

Liz Straub is the owner and founder of Valkyrie Aerial now located at 308 Court St., Danville, Va.  She coaches and teaches all ages and sizes aerial acrobatics, dance, yoga and Pilates on the mat & Reformer.

​

In 2014, Liz decided to bring her professional skill set back to the US. Settling in Brooklyn allowed her time to develop and coach a strong Kids Aerial Acrobatic Program and her own performance company, Single Point Aerial Dance Company. Her company trained students for Aerial Competitions across the US and produced several shows for NYC Venues.

 

In 2020 Liz has developed four Aerial Acrobatic programs in southern Virginia and North Carolina, 100-hour Teacher Training Program, and is owner and Head Coach of the competition team Valkyrie.

​

She has traveled the world working with Cirque du Soleil, and their outreach program Cirque du Monde. 

​​
